We asked readers to tell us if they had studied with movie or television celebrities. And we got a great response!
Sharing her experiences is Anjali Kapoor, who studied with Mallika Sherawat.
Over to Anjali:
Mallika Sherawat, then Reema Lamba, was in my class at Miranda House (a well known college in Delhi) for three years, when we were studying Philosophy Honours together.
Most of the time she would stand outside college and eat bhelpuri with her friends or stand outside Hansraj College to chat with her friends. She got good marks until the second year but did not appear in one of the papers in third year. She was a down-to-earth person and would never make fun of anyone.
She would mostly wear jeans and T-shirt and a salwar kameez once in a while. Her favourite earrings are still the same -- big hoops.
Unlike her friends, she was a non-smoker.
In the begining of third year, she became an air hostess and wouldn't attend college as much. Once I heard her talking about Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai. I didn't know then what was going on in her mind. And she didn't look that bold as much as she does now in the movies.
Had a star friend in college? Studied alongside them in school? Hung out at the canteen together? Bunked classes? Maybe even hit on the same pretty people?
What were they like? What did you think of them then? Did you ever foresee their success?
If there is one ‘ism’ there is no escaping from, then it is ‘jism’. There is a class of young women in India who have made this into an ideology. It does not surprise me. What does is that they are confident in the belief that they are in charge. No insinuations about the casting couch, no complaining about “the scene demanded it”, no excuses.
The Myth MallikaSherawat Shows bbs Video Check this Out :
They have come to make it in a competitive world, they have no godfathers. And unlike the Aishwariya Rais who simper and giggle, most of these girls can talk cogently and make their point clearly. If you look at their sensational quotes, you might find some truth in what they are saying.
Mallika Sherawat, the small-town girl who left her home in Haryana to find her feet in the glamour world, has said, “Men like talking to my breasts.” Was she lying? Was she reducing herself in any way? Only because she is not some famous person’s daughter and does not have a title of Miss World or Supermodel, does she become any less for it?
A few years ago there was a much-talked about wedding of an industrialist to a socialite. At one of the pre-marriage parties, the woman was wearing a gown that exposed her back right to the top of her buttocks and in profile shots the curve of her breast could be visible; she was dancing with a guest whose hand was where it ought not to have been for reasons of decorum. What did the media talk about? The Versace gown that was so ‘classy’.
MUMBAI, November 19: The presence of the reigning superstar of Hindi film industry, Shah Rukh Khan at cricket matches in recent times has attracted a lot of attention.
But the organisers of the games, BCCI has not taken too kindly to SRK's constant presence. Shah Rukh was also present at the final of the T20 World Championship and even went onto the field to congratulate the Indian team.
He was also present at the one-off T20 match between India and Australia at the Cricket Club of India (CCI). Quite a few officials are unhappy, claiming the leading man of Hindi cinema is using the platform provided by the matches to promote his latest flick, Om Shanti Om.
"This is a much bigger platform than being on a private television station. A match is watched by the entire country, there is no better way to create recall value. We have to be understand that," said an angry official.
Watch His video along with Farah khan.
In particular SRK's interview to the host broadcaster during the fifth and final ODI in Jaipur has raised the heckles. Interestingly, during the interview SRK spoke about his latest film. Board secretary Niranjan Shah refused to comment on the matter when contacted by TOI.
There has also been talk of SRK possibly buying a franchise in the soon-to-be launched Indian Premier League (IPL). But the board officials dismiss this as mere speculation.

Pamela Anderson has said "I do" for the third time to longtime pal Rick Salomon.
The pair tied the knot Saturday night in Las Vegas at the Mirage Hotel before Anderson's children and members of her family, sources confirm to PEOPLE.
A conventional marriage it wasn't, as the nuptials actually took place in an hour-and-a-half between Anderson's two magic shows.
Anderson, 40, donned a white denim Valentino dress at the small ceremony. Wedding guests included Tobey Maguire, Lukas Haas and magician Hans Klok.
After the nuptials, it was right back to work for Anderson, who made no secret that she had just gotten married. "Hello, I just got married…I did," Anderson said after performing in the second magic show of the night. "I'm distracted. It's a big day. A big day at the office."
Anderson has had two high-profile marriages – to ex-husbands Tommy Lee and Kid Rock, who famously fought at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. Salomon, 38, is divorced from actress Shannen Doherty.
Lee and Salomon made their matrimonial intentions known when they applied for a marriage license last month in Las Vegas, where Anderson has been performing with magician Hans Klok at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
So why a third walk down the aisle for Anderson? Says a source, "They are head over heels in love. They are really close. They have a relationship already and they have the license."
"Rick is always with her," another source has told PEOPLE. "He's backstage when she does her show all the time."

The Courtship
On her blog, Anderson called Salomon a friend of 15 years. And they do have at least one scandalous tie – both have appeared in sex tapes: Salomon with Paris Hilton, and Anderson with Lee.
Last month, Anderson, appearing on Ellen DeGeneres's show, revealed that she was dating a new mystery man. "I paid off a poker debt with sexual favors, and I fell in love," Anderson told DeGeneres of her new guy. "It's so romantic. It's romance."
And Salomon gets a thumbs-up from at least one guy in Anderson's life: magician Klok, who told PEOPLE recently, "I like Rick. He's a really nice guy. As long as he's not making another video, I'm ok with him."
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 8 - Careful listeners could almost hear Hollywood breathe a sigh of relief as Tom Cruise this week fired his publicist, Lee Anne DeVette, who is also his sister, and replaced her with one of the movie industry's veteran star-wranglers, Paul Bloch.
Fred Prouser/Reuters
Tom Cruise and his sister Lee Anne DeVette, his former publicist.
The move followed a run of the worst publicity in his reign as the world's biggest movie star, with Mr. Cruise, 43, attracting negative reaction last summer to his criticism of psychiatry and antidepression drugs, his over-the-top wooing of the actress Katie Holmes and his open advocacy of Scientology, which some consider a dangerous cult.
In an industry where box office sales are dwindling even as the pool of bankable movie stars seems to be shrinking by the day, a reburnished Mr. Cruise becomes more valuable than ever. He remains one of the very few actors whose name on the marquee can virtually guarantee a successful movie opening, and Paramount Pictures is certainly counting on him to accomplish that in its big-budget sequel "Mission: Impossible 3," which stars Mr. Cruise and is currently in production.
By putting Mr. Bloch and his colleague Arnold Robinson in charge of his public image, Mr. Cruise has opted for seasoned professionals who have longstanding relationships with the entertainment industry over his sister, who had no previous publicity experience before taking charge in March 2004, and is, like her brother, a committed Scientologist.
As recently as this fall, Ms. DeVette told journalists that she thought her brother's widely ridiculed appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in June, in which the star repeatedly jumped on a couch to profess his love for Ms.Holmes, had delighted his fan base, and was merely blown out of proportion by the news media. Ms. DeVette will now be handling Mr. Cruise's philanthropic endeavors. She did not return calls seeking comment. Mr. Bloch, who also represents the actor John Travolta, another Scientologist, Bruce Willis and the producer Jerry Weintraub, said on Tuesday that Ms. DeVette had done a wonderful job. He would not indicate how or whether he intended to shift gears. "We just began," he said. "We don't want to talk about what we're going to do and not going to do," though he added that he would be very involved in the promotion of "Mission: Impossible 3," set to open in May. The A list in Hollywood has always been a short one, but these days it seems that even once-reliable movie stars are failing to deliver audiences. Recent releases keep proving that point, as with Twentieth Century Fox's "In Her Shoes," which has failed to draw big audiences despite Cameron Diaz's sexy image on a poster, and Paramount's "Weather Man," which, despite Nicolas Cage, who is successful as an action star, has not drawn significant numbers.
"The entertainment media is changing," said Allan Mayer, managing director at Sitrick and Company, a public relations firm. "The currency a movie star had was the ability to put people in the seats. They command enormous salaries. But simply having a star in a movie isn't enough. Young audiences don't have the same loyalties and interests that previous generations have. That's why there is so much panic in the industry."
In that context, stars and the studios that employ them have less margin for error than ever before in terms of maintaining their store of good will with fans and audiences.
In the case of Mr. Cruise, his recent behavior had clearly disturbed at least some of his fans, who have speculated online as to whether his romance with Ms. Holmes was merely a publicity stunt. Both actors had movies to promote this summer, Mr. Cruise with "War of the Worlds," and Ms. Holmes with "Batman Begins."
And earlier this year, as part of his increasingly public dedication to Scientology, Mr. Cruise sponsored a Scientology tent on the set of "The War of the Worlds" and invited film executives involved in distributing the film on a tour of various Scientology locations in Los Angeles.
The gossip did not appear to affect the box office sales of "War of the Worlds," which was a blockbuster hit and took in more than half a billion dollars around the world. But within the industry, Mr. Cruise's comments and behavior gave many cause to worry. And his publicity woes coincided directly with the movie star's decision to fire his longtime publicist, Pat Kingsley, a feared figure in show business circles known for her fierce protection of her clients, and replace her with Ms. DeVette.
Mr. Mayer said the writing was on the wall for movie stars in general. "The movie star is past its peak in terms of its power," he said. "Which is not to say it's not very powerful, but people are realizing that other forces at work are more powerful, which no one can quite identify yet."

THE INDIAN giant, Dalip Singh Rana, described as, inter alia, the man with strong muscles, extraordinary height and long flowing locks has been eliminating all those blocking his way in the world wrestling arena. April 7, 2006, was a memorable day not just for Dalip Singh but also for all those Indians who are crazy about wrestling, because the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) launched the ’Great Khali’ in the arena of ‘Smack Down’. On the first day, he choked the Undertaker and thus warned all the wrestlers of WWE. After that he challenged many other wrestlers like Rey Mysterio, Batista, Umaga, Shawn Michaels, Edge, Randy Orton and many others in the ring.
When Edge quit the World Heavyweight Championship owing to an injury, Khali won the 20-man Battle Royal with the help of his famous ‘Brain Chop’ attack. He lifted the Heavyweight Title on July 20. It is a day Khali will remember all his life.
Dalip Singh was born on August 27, 1972, in Himachal Pradesh. To earn a living, he worked as watchman in a residential building in Himachal Pradesh. After that, he joined the Punjab Police, as officer. In February 27, 2002, he got married to Harminder Kaur.
Khali’s 7 ft 3 inch frame weighs 420 lb and scares the living daylights out of his opponents in the ring. He started his career in October 2000 as a pro-wrestler for All Pro Wrestling in United States. On May 28, 2001, Brian Ong, a professional wrestler died after receiving a flapjack from Khali in the ring during practice. Ong had suffered a concussion earlier in the session.
After clinching the World Championship, Khali became very popular amongst Indian viewers. The Indian media too contributed its mite. In 2005, Khali acted in the Hollywood movie ‘The Longest Yard’, as Turley. In India, he tried weight lifting but could not establish himself because the lower portion of his body was not favourable for it. This 36-year old Indian giant has already proved his calibre in the world arena, but this is not the end — it is just the beginning for this Indian legend!
